What To Expect As A New Patient

Coming to a new chiropractic office can be a daunting experience for many, especially if this is your first time seeing a chiropractor. We offer an initial consultation to first determine if we can help with your problem. Book Online Here.

We are going to make the experience much easier for you, outlining exactly what to expect in your first discussion with the chiropractor.

Once you have made your booking, which you can book online or by calling us, you will have an allocated time. You will receive a confirmation email prior to your first visit to confirm your time with you, answer any questions you may have, and help you with directions.

In order to gather all the information necessary to help you best, you will be asked to fill out our initial paperwork. This form outlines your current problems or concerns, and asks questions about your health history and profile.

You can complete this form either online prior to your appointment, or in the office if you choose. If so you will be asked to arrive 10 minutes before your appointment.

What is a Chiropractic adjustment?

STEP 1 – You will sit down with one of our chiropractors and explain your current problem. Our chiropractors will ask you further questions about your health and your history to fully understand how best to help. Our number 1 priority here is to ensure you feel heard and UNDERSTOOD.

STEP 2 – Once we have all the information about your health, if our chiropractor feels they can help you, you can proceed with an examination. The comprehensive examination will include a posture exam, neurological and orthopaedic examination, plus a chiropractic examination.

The chiropractor will examine your entire body as a whole, not just the area that is in pain.

STEP 3 – Once the examination is complete the chiropractor will sit down with you and explain their findings. We make sure to do this in an easy to understand way.

STEP 4 – First Adjustment. After the examination, if it seems that you are a candidate for chiropractic care, the chiropractor will provide your first chiropractic adjustment. Depending on you, your preferences, body type and condition, your chiropractor will use appropriate techniques. If you are not a candidate for chiropractic care, we will refer you to the person who can best help you.

STEP 5 – In order to get the full picture of your spinal health, you may be referred for spinal x-rays. The x-rays will be conducted off site and will be bulk billed through Medicare.

STEP 6 – Your next appointment, your chiropractor will explain your condition in further detail and if you were referred for x-rays, walk you through the x-ray findings. The chiropractor will outline treatment options, explaining costs and recovery times. There will be no hidden surprises with our care. From here, we will work together to help you achieve your goals. Your subsequent appointments will consist of treatments only. Re-examinations will be performed periodically.

You will never feel rushed in your treatments. Your chiropractor will always examine your body at each visit and adjust where necessary.
